George of the Jungle? . . . . Watch out for that....
Break a Chain . . . hit a tree? Who put THAT in the rule book!?!?!?

(I held the pieces together juuuuust right to get the upload onto STRAVA)
On the McGill mid section where you have to power out of some corners due to the slight climbs, I come out of a corner and stand up on the pedals to power up the next section to descend and my chain breaks (second time this chain breaks)...
Unfortunately, I was in the full "push on the pedal mode" when "snap!" and the next thing I know I'm watching this midsized tree on the left coming right at me! I thought, "I'm not really gonna hit this tree am I?" Blam! Just like Wile E. Coyote, hit this tree dead on, bounce back off it straight onto my back looking up at the sky right in the middle of the trail... yes, I did see sparks on impact, and yes, I saw stars as I laid on the ground...
So after I laid there a while trying to figure out if I broke anything other than my pride, I got up de-chained the rear derailleur and coasted the rest of the way down McGill to the "Y" parking lot with the shrapnel of my Garmin in my back pocket to finish the STRAVA...
Drove home, jumped in the shower with a Modelo and then went to a wedding that afternoon...
What's the chances of finding ANOTHER Garmin Edge 705 on Craigs List...huh?
