Looking to Ride with someone to help coach/train

I am getting back into mountain biking. I am 37 years old and have various health goals I would like to achieve, and would like some advice in getting there. I am just a recreational rider, not looking to race, but mainly just improve my health and cardio. Looking for someone to help me by giving advice, and riding together once in awhile.

Please send me a PM if you can help.

Hello and welcome, VeggieBiker! There is quite a range of riders on here, and we're a pretty friendly bunch. Rides are often posted in the Trailhead forum. Some long, some short, some fast... You get the idea. Feel free to jump in and let us know what type of mileage you're looking for. Someone will offer something up.

I'm 45, and got back into biking only about 4 years ago. It has, literally, changed my life...

Hey, Alan – welcome to IMTBT.

You can go pretty far in learning by simply asking questions here on the site. No substitute for riding, of course. Tell us more about your goals and status, and that will help hook you up with appropriate rides.

Congrats getting into it. It's pretty damn fun, and honing a little edge with fitness and technique add to that. Cheers...

Welcome veggiebiker !! I'm from Corona and ride the fullerton loop once in a while, it is a begginer trail, since you are from Anaheim most likely know about it, hey If one of my friends cancels his spot this coming sunday, will you be interested in a free class "introduction to mountain biking"? is free and is in Irvine....

I give everyone advice, whether they want it or not. The cool thing about that is, even though I have no idea what I'm talking about, lots of people follow it!
Lucky for you however, I can't ride for another 3-4 weeks due to injury.

OK, seriously... I have a few nuggets of riding wisdom and love to help where I can regarding technique. As for health and fitness, better ask @StrandLeper - I haven't a clue.

Welcome to IMTB!

Yup....some of us are good sources of knowledge and lots of experience.

Depending on what the goals are....there is bound to be someone here who can at least point you in the somewhat correct direction.

I found that just riding.....alot.....pushed me into some of the goals I was striving for.

Hey welcome @VeggieBiker !
It's all been said. Great group of VERY helpful friendly folks here excited that you are excited about mountain bikes.
As lots, and you'll get good answers (and a lot of superfluous but fun schmack talk ;))

But the best advice given is get out with the boys and ride.

Hanging out on the "I Rode my Bike" Thread over in ride Reports will give you a great idea of who rides what where.
In the meantime, I'm going to move your post over to the "Say Hello" Forum.

Hope we ride soon!
:)Mikie

Does Dino still organize those beginner rides on Sundays? I think that's a great place to get back into things. You can meet other riders at your same fitness level and modify the Floop in ways that suits your level of riding.
