Large cougar released from trap in Southern Utah

That was hard to watch, but a necessary evil. Poor cat; a traumatizing experience.

I wonder why the cat was in a leg trap to begin with. Anyway, good outcome. Solid work for just two guys with catch poles.

The article I read said it was a coyote/bobcat trap. The cats are protected, so they have to be released. They said that tranq. are preferred, but they were a long ways away, so in the interest of speed and lack of suffering they did what they did.

That's just a lil kitty.

This lion is a beast. The write up said the guy and his son were out looking for deer/elk sheds and the cougar was stalking them for over a half hour and wouldn't scare off.

Right, so the solution is to kill the cat?

That's f@cking heartbreaking. I'm in no way down on hunters or hunting, but dumbass neanderthals looking for excuses to shoot guns make me sick. You can see the glee that fuckhead got out of it. May he die a grisly and early death after he gets popped for poaching.

I second that...

Maybe he just tamed it? Or maybe it's sleeping?

No - I'm guessing he killed it for being a cat, and doing what cats do. If he was being attacked, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but if not, then leave.

Am I wrong to admit I hate seeing this sh*t? It's like Facebook too, when people put up pics or stories of abused animals; I know it exists but do I have to see it??

My boss is a hunter. He fits the stereotype but it's a sport he is passionate about. He asked me one day if it bothers me that he is a hunter. I couldn't do it but if the meat industry didn't exist I'd be a vegan.

Weird how that is.....

It was coming right for them

I agree that pictures of so-called trophies can be offensive, depending on context. Like in the context of lion population being managed and conserved, i.e., this thread. But if you have no sense of that, go ahead and post up all the dead animals you want in this thread. I'll simply ignore the thread.
