Got a wife/kid free day this Sunday and have yet to hit up SkyPark or Snow Summit this year. I know it pretty much comes down to lift access or pedal power, but was wondering what you hoolies would do if having to pick between these two options.

I would do Snow Summit, if you like the trails there and/or if you are curious about 10-Ply. Limited time before it's closed for the season.

I like the lower knucklehead factor of skypark and I just find it enjoyable... But Snow Summit is "bigger / faster" which can fill that need for speed

Summit, just because Skypark is way more accessible the rest of the year. 10ply is pretty good and some of the other trails off grid are running really well.

Hmm.....admittedly I don't go on weekends but I find the knucklehead quotient at Skypark 10X than that at Summit.

As you know, those are two completely different sports. That’s almost like asking “where should I go skiing?” and having the answer be “do a long road ride instead.”

They’re not even remotely completely different. You can even ride a 4-inch-travel rinky-dink at snow summit and be faster than me. Oliver did it. There’s not much to pedaling a bike uphill. And there’s not much to riding a bike downhill. The difference lies in doing either of those two things well.

The type of bike does not change my assessment that a long day of xc riding is a different sport than a day at a bike park.
