How low can you go?

Just found out my wife's nephew or someone in his household has been embezzling from her great grandniece's college savings fund. Over the last year or so, around 2 grand has been transferred online to his checking account. Admittedly, my wife, who is the account holder put him on as a back up and hasn't been diligent in looking over the account statements. But she forwards them to the mom and the mom finally said wtf!? We froze the account today and will deal with all this BS tomorrow.

Effing family man, you can't live with them and you can't break their knees and leave them screaming in a piss filled alley.

Well, you could...but it's frowned upon for some reason.o_O

my unemployed step-cousin? Wife's aunt's husband's (deceased last year) son by his first wife (so not blood relatyive), is always trying to get money from said aunt, who has memory problems and who wife and i look out for. Pretty f'in low. He even texts me to "remind" her. Yeah sure buddy. " Auntie. remember dont send him any money!" Well, she can if she wants im not gonna stop her but im certainly not gonna make sure she does. Shes wealthy but she will need memory care down the road and shes gonna need all her money for that expensive s***. and I cant help with that i can barely afford my own life.
OK rant over.

My story of my neice in law I’m pretty sure, is on the lowest rung of low, but then again she never ceases to amaze me at how low she can go! She is 24. Sorry, there is not enough time that I am willing to give her to tell her sorry ass story! And she has a child! My wife and I have discussed how we could occupy a whole season of Jerry Springer with both sides of our family. I shake my head alot and even laugh out loud occasionally. There is just nothing to like about this thread. Ok to give you somewhat of an idea, she stole my mother in laws Christmas light’s and are hanging on her house right now.

Not exactly ironic, but we had a similar account for the grand niece (whose daughter was embezzled from this time) and had the grand niece's mom as a secondary acct. holder. And guess what? She siphoned off more that half of that account before we got wise. My departed SIL's kids never fail to amaze. Knowing my in-laws and how my wife was raised, we can't believe her niece's and nephews are related to us. Out of 5, there's only one left that hasn't screwed somebody close royally yet.

Yep, I have the same with my family... I think it's the human condition. Luckily not in the immediate circle, but my uncle's step-kids are all pieces of work.
One of them even has their own religion, so they get the sick and the old to buy them their own airplane and mansion in Hawaii.

Had Christmas Wednesday with my normal daughter. My X and her side of the family are off the team. Years ago the wife's sister shipped her 16 year old daughter to us from Washington because she needed a break from the fights. Brat tells her mom I go into her (temp) bedroom at night:gag: Another sister visiting, backed me up against the smelly dumpster in our alley and tried to you know! Went into the house, told the wife your sister just tried to bag me. Helped raise my nephew, he was a born liar and thief. But I didn't give up trying. I was constantly returning bikes, motorcycles, trucks, race trailers to people he duped into believing he would make payments. Same nephew. When my dad passed I gave him grandpa's big-bore 416 Remington Magnum with huge Leopold scope. Also turret & dies, everything 416. He loved my dad. Couple years ago I'm at his place and asked to check it out, go shoot, (Arizona) he kept skirting the subject. Finally I just said dude did you sell the only keepsake you had of grandpa's? Yep! That rig was big bucks. I was at Stoddard wells for the weekend when my wife had a family get together for her mom. Everything was peachy until a week later when I opened the box (I made when I was a kid) on my dresser and two grand cash gone.

Theirs much more.

It doesn’t work that way. You must have a very very long neck, and a deep deep sand box!
Yes my head is deep in the sand that is why its working for me haven't talked to most of my family in 2 years. I handle my grandmother's money, they have no ties to it. Saw my mother for 2hrs on Xmas day because my bro who I enjoy hanging with drove 3hrs to see mom. If not for him I would have little to no contact with her either. This is my life not theres. Don't need them haven't for years. They have no skills or wisdom that are useful in this world. It is a difficult process within myself to deal with the feelings that draw me back to them. But those are subsiding and I have never been happier. Family is only good if they work together!

I sympathize with all, Americas core has big big problems. I appreciate all ride invites I am surprised I still recieve, I have turned down just about all of them, nothing personal people. I need to ride alone cause quite simply I have hardly anything good to talk about, I will work it out. I think tomorrow though I will work on my trail which should be good for me, if anyone wants to work instead of play I’ll be out there on the lower section.

We all have issues my friend. I ride alone for the same reasons. Even on group rides I hang back alot. I have had these issues for along time. Just now getting them worked through at 44.
You will always get invites cause you are a fun dude to be around. Wrightwood awaits next summer.
And it ain't just America it's all over the world. We are not unique.

I'm very lucky. 8 immediate siblings and we all get along. There's some tension now and again between us, but nothing of the caliber described above. And so far, my nieces and nephews from my immediate siblings and my wife's side are all doing OK too - no criminals or jerks. No manipulation or thievery. And even though three of my brothers are divorced, there are no false accusations from prior spouses. Given what I just read, I think I will give my family an extra hug (or bro-hug anyway) next time I see them.

Best wishes for an unexplained uptick in ethics and integrity for the miscreants mentioned above.
