Home Theater Nerds

Long story short, but the wife and I are getting around to finishing up an addition on our place (added 560 sq ft). Finally getting around to getting my stuff set up again. We demolished pretty much our entire old living room. Mix of some old stuff with some new pieces I picked up. Still waiting to get the rears wired up, but loving it so far. Anyone else into home theater or A/V stuff?

I will be mounting the TV on the wall, the wiring is already there just needs some wall plates and terminals. I will probably set my center on top of the media console so I can have the receiver, amp and XBox in the cubbyholes. Temporary setup right now since I couldn't stand just listening to TV audio. The wife gets so annoyed when I crank it, but I love watching movies at full tilt.

-Samsung 75" 6300 TV (picked up on clearance from Wal-Mart for $850)
-Yamaha Aventage 2070 Receiver
-Outlaw Audio 5000 amplifier
-Swan Diva 6.1 towers and center
-SVS Prime Elevation rear surrounds
-SVS PB12+ sub

Nice set up. A friend of mine who has always been into the latest and greatest has a theater room in his home. Black walls and a couple of staggered rows of plush recliners. A massive screen and a totally gnarly, fully state of the art entertainment system to enjoy.

I have a simple 28” in front of my bed and a 40” out in the front room. Thats as fancy as it gets in my home.

Sweet setup! Once you get the TV wall mounted you'll be stoked!
Running a 55" vizio, Denon Receiver, Energy Take speakers, PS3 for Blurays / netflix and my macbook pro hooked into the receiver on my end.

edit: and a Harmony Smart Control universal remote.

I invested in a pretty sweet system almost 15 years ago most of which is still going strong. The old tv finally died a year ago so I ponied up 1/4 the price for a new one that is way bigger and nicer.

Receiver is Rotel, speakers are B&W 603s up front and 601s rear. My current place isn't a great layout but it works well enough. I haven't figured out how to get sound out from new TV to receiver yet for streaming. No cable so mostly I watch movies.

I'm kind of a cat nerd, so I'd like to know more about your kitty. Does he like the renovation? :geek:

Never spent a cent on a TV or programming. Cats, however...:cool:

He is a She. Her name is Mia and she's probably the most chill cat I've ever had. She's great with my kids and super friendly. We typically keep her in the house, but she did all kinds of exploring with everything open.
