Hokay You Pinheads, What Are We Going to Do to get Ride Invites Back on the Menu?

So, I'm super stupid busy with my job. They have, once, again asked me to go on special assignment as Production Hiring Manager and go hire about 600 technicians. Not only for Palmdale but for Clearfield Utah as well. So I'm NOT getting the riding in that I really want. Also, I have not discovered the secret trails in my area for easy after work rides. The locals are pretty tight lipped about that or there ARE no secret trails.

None the less, this dumbazz Covid thingy has conditioned all of us to not post ride invites much anymore. I think there are plenty of folks that would love to join up on rides. That was the main reason for this whole fiasco of building a Site in the first place was to bring our MTB community together!

SO, unless we have driven crazy walls and have built partitions of ride buddies, can we get back to lining up rides so peoples can get out and experience the awesomeness that imtb-hooligans provide. I miss the hail out of you guys and think it's a felony you are all not riding together.

I have decided to build an Arkansas leg on the site and get out and recruit some Arky mtb'ers.
So dammit, show me the ride invites!

Ahhh bummer Brother. I'm really sorry to hear that. It was a doozey eh?
My knees snap crackle and pop, but they don't hurt so although it is not a great motivator and get out. I get out some. Going to go putt over at Hobbs with the misses tonight, but looking for some closer trails as I get out of here at 5:30 and it's a 45 minute drive.

I do hope you get that fire back. Man it seems my life has been nothing but crash recovery as I push myself. I don't push anymore and thankful for the majority of the trails out here just being amazing flowy gifts.

So, as a former airframe riveter/bolter/sealer, I could be happy in Clearfield.....:cool:

11pm? That's way past my bedtime!

Now Mikie, I know nada about planes ( other than I spend way too much time in them and airports ) , can't keep a secret ( oh the secret trail? it's over there!), But can use a cell phone to kinda reply on iMtbtrails, so that is kinda techy. So, am I hired? Happy to move to BFE even though I like Da OC.

Utah of course, I ain't moving to Palmdale that's for sure.

Now most of us could keep up with you!

Until just a couple of months ago I went nearly a year without a functional vehicle and only rode to work.
More recently work has been bad with a quarter to a third out due to COVID.

This week is apparently my turn. After avoiding it for 2.5 years (as far as I know) I have it now. Not bad, yet.

Hope to back on a bike soon.

I hope you succeed with the Arkansas leg on the site! Tell the folk over there they can hang out with the cool California dudes online. Not the cliquey cool dudes, though, because, well...
 
I was in the manufacturing of aluminum forged and machined parts. Mainly airframe, hydraulic valve bodies, near net shaped structural components. Commercial/ Military applications.
If it's in the air, I have parts on it.
Not a assembler, but I have taught a bunch of Boeing Engineers about precision forgings.
Ohhh and that was for 40 years
 
170 techs, nice. I am the one they give new Schmitt to design and field. I go out in the field and work with the techs and QA, we work it hard, I write the planning, redline the planning, we wrap it up. Shifts come and go, we are still there. And I go to customer board when something breaks. I tell the customer," my fault". " You had torque on the fault tree, I had the tech go full torque, it broke, we can take that off the fault tree". My techs, QA's and EIC's love me, we always get the impossible done.
Listen to your techs, they know what side the toast is buttered.

Clearfield proper ain’t much to look at, but Ogden topped the Wall Street Journal’s list of under the radar ski towns. I personally would consider going all the way out to Eden or Huntsville to be even closer to the slopes and the lake.
