How Bromantic they had a nice little picnic with salami and cheese on their break while they were reading the map. Because nobody brought any cheese or salami to our ride. Or maybe there was just a bunch of salami no cheese.
Naaa I didn't see a beer. I guess I missed it. Guess I was too busy looking at the cheese and the map.I do picnic on rides, I do bring cheese and salami on rides. We just don't have the trail side Inns they have on European trails in the Alps. Are you going to make fun of the beer too?

The prices are in euros, most likely they're NOT coming to the states....I guess....Probably not a good day for me to comment on this....
Just because I share my salami and cheese with men on rides does not make me a bad person. And no beer pictured in that video but I know those trail side inns sell beer.

I might need one in about 15 yearsGrrrrrrr.....
If you need one, you can ride one. If you don't, you can't.
On the contrary, I do not fear for singletrack access and trail user conflicts with a functional steed like that. I doubt we would see it on many multi-use singletrack trails, and if we did, it wouldn't be used to blast people off into the weeds. E-bikes for fireroads!View attachment 20084
This was at a LBS in Vegas. I can't lie. I lusted pretty hard for it. The multi-day long mile short duration adventures I could have with this! Brings a whole new definition to weekend warrior.
Is this style ebike blasphemous?
I think I will write a thank you letter to Mammoth Mountain! In mammoth there was a guy stationed at one of the trail intersections. 4 guys pulled up and he checked all our trail passes. As the last guy started to ride off he said "hold on there.....you have an e bike! No e bikes of any kind in the bike park only." The rider thought his kind (pedal assist only) should be OK. Mammoth policy is no ebike of any kind on the mountain. FYI
Wouldn't something like this make more sense?View attachment 20084

The guy's bike looked kinda like a stumpjumper. He thought it was OK for pedal assist on the mtn, but as you say mammoth can have their own rules. He said pedal assist will only assist to 19 mph, not a throttle type system.Pedal assist bikes in a gravity park makes no sense. Use the extra weight for 8-10 inches of travel and wide tires not a heavy CX bike. Mammoth is private property they have the right to set any rules they like.

Specialized does make a pedal assist stump jumper called the Levo. State of CA does not lump pedal assist bike without a throttle, and power assist to stop at 20 miles per hours, into the motorized category. The law pertains to bike lanes and paths it does not pertain to hiking trails it is up to land mangers to set their own policies and those policies need to be posted. The guy's bike looked kinda like a stumpjumper.
