Focus Mountain Bikes - Made in Germany

Cathy and I hit up a Denny's, and sitting out in the parking lot was a truck, with two Focus Mountain Bikes on top. Never heard of Focus. The company is out of Germany and although they don't build these particular designs anymore, I thought them unique/peculiar. Focus is not popular in the States both as road bikes and as mountain bikes. I think they only build composite bikes...

The owner was on his way up to the bay area to ride with his girl friend. He is in the cycling apparel industry.

Just I thought I would share...

Don't see a single American-designed part on the guy's bike.

I didn't see any Focus bikes until I moved over here, and then only saw them on display at JensonUSA and at IE Bikes. They have some decent value for a bike a German bike. I only have seen one owner, and he had a Focus Mares road bike. They have entry level and race bikes, but they seem to focus on delivering a good mainstream value. If you got 2000-3000 to spend on a complete bike, their line-up will compete for that money as good as any other brand (carried by bike shops, not direct) I can think of.
