Fezzari

I had a friend and his friend who rode the Nebo Peak back in 2008-10. The bikes seemed fine. Just like any other faux bar system of its era. (linkage driven single pivot a la Kona). I have no idea how Fezzari have progressed. Just another label thrown on a generic frame out of Taiwan.

EDIT:
Looks like they dropped the rear pivot to the chain-stays making it an FSR-type suspension. FSR patent ran out about two years ago.

Fezzari and similar brands remind me of the old SuperGo bikes of the early '90s. They spec'd a full XT groupo and decent wheels but everything else was house brand. The bike was solid-ha! I mean heavy but it got the job done.
Fezzari needs to step up it's game on the ready to ride aspect. At the shop, we have seen several that needed adjustments before being able to ride.
If you have any issues-check with your LBS.

If I was going to go direct might try Whyte or Canyon am I misinformed / confused?

Also think you get slot for your money with Transition.
By "slot" I think you meant to say "a lot" right?

Whyte, Canyon and Transition are real bike companies with a "philosophy" of bike design, internal engineers and a commitment to mt. biking including racing. For some reason, I see Fezzari as a Taiwan/Chinese mail-order toy manufacturer that puts a "racy" sounding name on a bike (close to Ferrari) for the American market, then puts up a website to make it look legit. I think it's perhaps south of Airborne. At least Airborne puts some money into racing.

That said, I doubt that their frames are technically any worse than most of the Chinese-made frames.

NOTE: this is all completely biased opinion based on nothing but me having a keyboard and an internet connection.

That is exactly the steering I was attempting ... you can get a serious... real ...thoughtful... High value per cost... pick your adjective mountain bike Direct ... Or LBS .. For about the same price point.
