ELO in concert

On a happy note... Sunday I went to the ELO concert at the Forum. Insane. They hold the record for the most Top 20 hits (15) without ever getting a #1 single. Best concert I've ever been to. Great to see them packing a venue that seats 17,000. They had two shows and I think they both sold out.

Listen to them at Wembley stadium last fall... 40 years later and they sound better live than their recording! I guess this is from a time when you actually needed to be able to perform your music :)

I was at the Forum last night for Weezer/Pixies concert.
I don't think it holds 30,000 people.
Driving out of the parking lot was a real nightmare.
The show was awesome, but the overall volume was lower than expected. I could hear the screaming teenager standing behind me.......... She couldn't sing to save her life.

Compare to the Staple Center (or Honda Center) it is a dump.

I love ELO's music. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Can't imagine driving to LA to sit with thousands of others, though. :eek:

Yeah, sorry :) I just looked it up and it holds 17K. Wembley Stadium holds 90K.

We were in the 14th row, floor center. Almost everyone was behind us. Just like when I bike :laugh:

I wish they released video of the event. There were 13 musicians on stage, and they all had moments in the spotlight. One of the highlights was when Rosie Langley stepped out to start off "Livin' Thing".

I shelled out big bucks last year for floor seats in the front 20 rows. I will be returning next year... and bringing my daughter one week after she graduates high school. She has never been to a concert before and I asked her if she would like to go. Having never been to a concert before she was hesitant to commit. But the interesting thing was that the other day I noticed she was listening to ELO on her cell buds :)

My kids also play ELO frequently, unfor the same 2 or 3 songs. I plan to take them to see ELO next year.

They have on their playlist Hotel California, I tell them to add The Last Resort. They have
Comfortably Numb, I tell them to add Dogs...
