Crusher in the Tushar July 9th 2016

The only real issue with it for me is the altitude. The start is 200 feet higher than Santiago Peak. And you go 5,000 feet higher than that.

And that last climb at the very end...

Me too.

I honestly looked at it, but it looks like that's a cross bike route.

More people seem to do it on cross bikes than anything else, but with mountain bike gearing. This would be a skinny Mariachi ride for me... 700c tires.

The Crusher is more about being able to endure than anything technical. It's basically two humongous climbs from 6,000 to 10,000 feet. With the 70th mile a 10%-12% grade at 10,000 feet. Fun!!!

My wife tells me I'm signing up again, so I guess it is happening. On the plus side, I'll spend a couple of days in Brianhead acclimating to the elevation and checking out views like this:

Nice... Good luck out there. Any special training plans?
I did a lot of climbing to train last year and I'm going to bump it up some for this year. I didn't have a low enough gear on my cross bike last year (34x32) and I can't get any lower without switching to SRAM and putting together some mtb/road cobbled together setup. I'm thinking about a hardtail 29er for this year.

This was the training loop I was doing last year to try to get ready, probably something similar, or maybe climb Mt Wilson 2x, or if I really get smart, sell my entry.
