Corona riding

Yeah, but coming from Palmdale the most logical route would be east on 18 to 395 to the 15 and south to Norco. Oaks, Black Star, etc is way out of the way. Skyline is the better option but he was specific about NOT Black Star...:whistling:

The NOT was most certainly for the fire road aspect, not the location...

Chino, Skinsuit, Oaks... All worthy. Even Skyline and the network of trails that run with it..

Corona is showing almost 90 tomorrow. What time are you riding? Even if it's only 75 at the bottom, it will be 95 on Skyline with no shade... Been there and wouldn't recommend it.

I am good with 90 it is already that here in Palmdale. It was in the 100s last week. Skyline sounds fun have never done that and always been curious and watched YouTube videos. Just wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Skyline is a 5 mile fire road climb....and at 11:00/12:00 there will be no shade. It'll be warm.....breeze or not. Not worth it to just descend back down the Troy Lee Trails.

I would just be coming from Pearblossom hwy to the 15. I am meeting the guy for the fork at 11am. I will do some trail research for Santiago Oaks I have never ridden there. I just dont want to only climb fire roads for short steep singletrack descent. Thanks for the advice

Oaks is lots of short climbs/short DH's....but it's fun. Again around 12:00 there will be no shade, it'll be warm.

Chino Hills SP is a lot of fire road....but there is a lot of singletrack to be had. Issue there, is that it covers quite a bit of area, so in 2 hrs you'd kinda be limited to one side of the park or the other. Also no shade and it gets hot....but there is fun stuff to ride.

Monroe Truck Trail would be my choice to get some tree coverage and cooler than Corona area

and its on the way home to Palmdale
That was also an option in the back of my head. Never ridden that either

Now this is a somewhat nicer option. Even at noon, lots of the trail is under canopy....at least the first part. As you go up a ways it gets exposed, but shade will be hit and miss. Could be warm. Easy trail to follow. Nice mellow climb.....can pin it on the DH.

Cool. Have actually been thinking of hitting MTT but was told it is not worth the drive from Palmdale so this might be the opportunity
If you're gonna ride MTT, make sure to get the extra credit at the top of the climb by crossing the highway (GMR) and continuing a short was up Upper MTT to the high spot. The rock garden for the last mile, through the creek, on the way back down is fun.

Sycamore for me is super obvious because it is my Disneyland. Without a guide it can be hard to find stuff, it is just a spiderweb of trails. But if you stay south of Allesandro you can get in an easy hour or more of looping the Ammo Dump trails, or you can wonder around the north side (actual Sycamore) and try your luck.

Sycamore has some awesome stuff, just nothing is labeled as nothing there is official.
