No access to Oaks via Chutes from Irvine Park 2/12-2/13. Hope they are just repairing that Chutes and not “fixing” the top of ridgeline.

In order to keep the trails sustainable and safe at Santiago Oaks Regional Park, OC Parks will be working to repair storm damage on Chutes Trail beginning Feb. 12, at locations near the bottom of Chutes.

The work will commence and the trail will be closed each day from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. so visitors can still enjoy early morning or afternoon hikes and rides, before or after each work day. Rain or muddy conditions may reschedule this project.

Access to Santiago Oaks from Irvine Regional Park via Chutes trail will be unavailable during repair work. All other trails will remain open during construction. The work is anticipated to be completed by 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13. OC Parks thanks you for your cooperation during this trail repair effort.”

I got a feeling that Jon Kearley will be involved.
If he is, the trail would be awesomer.

I think these fixes are more than what you can fix with a pick and shovel:

Enough is Enough. Our park officials and land mangers need to restrict access to Mother Nature. Our sensitive habitat and endangered species must be protected!
