Has anyone ever connected these two mountains all on dirt? I just moved into town and thinking about doing some type of ride like that before it gets too hot. What do you guys think?

I haven't attempted this, but there are a lot of fire roads and some really rudimentary singletrack/donkey trails that should make it possible. Though, you'll need to pedal on some asphalt going up box springs mountain road. For me, this is a lot of climbing and not enough payoff for a majority of the downhill to make it something I'd really like to do. Good luck if you attempt it!

I've been up Blue Mtn. once... tough climb! I don't know how legit a connector it is, but looking on Strava heatmap, there are some trails connecting the two without having to drop down to Reche: https://www.strava.com/heatmap#14.33/-117.29225/34.00981/blue/ride

There are a couple of ways down Box Springs that are pretty wild, definitely not for the faint of heart! M Trail is a pretty gnarly downhill. And if you miss the turn off and go straight it is even harder! Two Trees is a ton of fun, but a lot of road riding to get back unless you climb back up. But both easily connect with Sycamore with a little road so you can make a very big day.
