Hi All, curious if you had say two to 3 days to ride where would you road trip to? One consideration - the place has to be kid friendly which means not a lot of chuck on the way up. Elevation can be up to around 1500 a day but too much chunk on the way up is hard for kids (9 and 13). They can ride most all the local trails like Oaks, STT, the luge, and stuff at el moro. The chunk at the top of San Juan would give them trouble for example. Looking at the Sedona trails, they look awesome and that chunk seems more fun than hard.

I was thinking Sedona but that looks pretty far and cold. How about kernville, thats closer and has a shuttle ? is that ridable now or is it all under snow?

Anything else stand out, places with shuttles would be sweeeet, but I know thats spot limited. I might look to get away after Christmas for a few days so I have some time to travel.

Sedona is nice. You could play around until you're tired but any extended rides are pretty tough. Elevation gain may only be 2000 feet in 20 miles but there is not a lot of flow so you are constantly pedaling.

I would venture to guess anything you can shuttle in Kernville is covered in snow.

Hi! here's just one of our trips to Sedona (slime shady) with some of the OTB's.. thank you! Merry Christmas and a happy healthy and EPIK New Year,, best wishes, Mikie and me

This time of the year the goods are under snow. Sedona is great but it is further than 5 hour drive. Sedona is good because if the weather is bad you head down to Black Canyon or Phoenix. In your specified driving time frame is Las Vegas, Palm Canyon and the valley floor in Kernville like Kern Canyon Trail is excellent.
