Ride Name: Anyone up for a biggish ride this Sunday?

Where: Santa Monica Mountains
Ride Description or Details:
20-30 miles approx, mix of terrain - lots of nice singletrack and some technical bits. Open to suggestions for routes as I'm still learning the area. Have heard Sycamore Canyon is good and not done that yet. I'm easy so long as the riding is good.

Hi all, as above. Looking for a decent ride this Saturday so wondering if anyone is planning anything. I know Tom the Bomb is planning a shuttle ride which looks awesome but I'm looking for an XC kinda day. Totally open to suggestions as you guys know the area a lot better than me. Have heard Sycamore/ Point Magu is good? Alternatively if there is another ride already being planned (doesn't have to be SMMs) that you don't me tagging on to then maybe post it here. Hope we can arrange something!

"Shuttle" often throws the uninitiated into thinking it's some kind of DH run. It definitely is not. Very few spots would be considered technical DH. I really was not kidding what I wrote that it's all XC. I'm referring to everything except Art Johnson, which I have yet to ride. Tom can weigh in on that, but I've heard it's "fun" with little climbing.
 
Nope not even. Not big climbing but at some elevation in the beginning with punchy techy climbs, the 3 mile sand wash and the climb back up to the Oasis after Hans which is a little but pucker. Art's Johnson is a final xc descent with a bit of techy fun and flow thrown in.
There are a few spots still open on the shuttle from Vons . See my post.
 
Hi all, given Tom's ride is in fact a XC and not a DH shuttle day I'm now gonna join those guys on Saturday. Definitely still keen for a ride in the SMMs this weekend though so am going to change this thread to Sunday instead. Any takers for Sunday?
