Anyone ride in the heat yesterday?

It was 110* plus on my loop. I do OK if I drink tons of water. It acts like a radiator for my body. How did you guys do?

I thought about it and decided it'd be bad form to put up a thread about hot weather riding and then go out and kill myself.

I rode the couch for most of the day....in the comfort of the A/C.

It's not the high, but the low that matters more to me. I won't go/be out at high temperature, but have to at low. I slipped in a ride as the heat wave started because it was mid-60s that morning. A morning like yesterday or today...nearly 15° warmer to start...that's the killer to me.

Didn't ride yesterday, but crossed on foot the 110 degree Palmdale Site 4 Asphalt Parking lot 5 times (about 1/4 of a mile one way)....
That was kinda like a sufferfest mountain bike ride?

Actually I did "The Worm". I flopped across, between the cars, like a cross between a Mexican jumping bean and a flapjack... It's how I roll.

Ride yesterday? That's a big old Nope! Other than rolling the cans out for trash day, I stayed inside with the AC blowing all day.

When I got home (around 5pm) my truck thermometer showed 75 deg........ Why too hot .
I opted for a spin class in the new LA fitness.

Negatory ghost rider... but I did have a bowl of chicken Pho soup for lunch, hot and steaming. That was the extent of my sweating yesterday.

Its definitely safer to NOT ride on a hot day like yesterday so you guys were smart. I chose a route that I could pretty much turn around and go downhill at any point (relatively down) so I chose to take the risk.

No way I'll ever go ride in triple digit heat again. I bonked hard on a road ride a few years back. The water in my bottles were hot. Bonked so bad that my friend had to come pick me up. After that...never will I go out on a day this hot.
