1969 Schwinn Racer Three Speed

This week is clean out the garage week! Who knows what treasures we will find. Today is a vintage Schwinn day!

I've had this bike for about 15 years, but am not riding it much (none at all). It is a large (for Schwinn!) frame. 22 inches. Paint is pitted and scratched, but is in otherwise good condition for a nearly 50 year old bike! I swapped out the stock cog (included) for a larger one, and it lowers the gearing to a much more manageable level. Tires are good. Brake pads suck.

$140 for IMTB peeps and I can meet you in Corona, Pomona, San Dimas, Murrieta, or something like that depending on where you are coming from. Or come out to Redlands and I'll buy you a beer!

Nearly 50 years and bike companies are still trying to sell ideas as new. I miss the old Schwinn.

Perfect bike for my son. How tall are you? Just wondering about sizing issues. Let me know, thanks

I'm 6'0 and this 22" frame is about an inch too small for me to be perfect. Seat and stem are both at their limits in the pics above, so dropping them a touch to fit someone around 5'10" would be spot-on. It took me a while to find one this large, as they just didn't make many.

Glad he can use it! Celebrate it's 50th for me next year!
