I Rode My Bike Today...

Rode Santiago oaks today with a friendly lady I haven't seen in some time. Did some climbs, some descents and repeat. Fun times.

Was chillin' at the top talking by the flag and a guy come flying by and takes a 8' or so drop, then hits a couple areas I wouldn't have imagined, then was gone.
The hikers looked over the edge and said "WTF" how did he make that! I'm thinking "WTF" some guys have serious skills!

Good day, good fun, good company. Saw some impressive riding.

Guess it was my turn to come down with the flu. Kept me out of touch and off the bike for a week. Forced myself to ride this weekend though it was only an obscure Floop. Felt good but still not 100%. Ended up with 19/1800. And a salute to the flu...

You Floopers are way too creative... One of you guys needs to make a "Floop Art" app for smartphones.

Yes, deals were mentioned. But no actual %'s thrown out. I wasn't really buying that day so I didn't dig. Jesse said we are dealing to whatever number Tani says is OK.
.
Thanks for the info. Path used to post some good deals when they were on STR. Too far for me to drive without knowing for sure on pricing....

Checked out Bommer Canyon on the open access day. All the advice/info here helped. Thanks @DangerDirtyD and everyone else who chimed in!

Parked at Quail Hill, took Quail Trail to Cattle Crest, blasted down the single track, Shady Oaks out to Serrano, then Fox Run back down and hiked a bunch of bike back up Rabbit Run and back out Quail Trail.

Paid to play on Fox Run on that one short but very steep section. Got stuck in a rut, went for a low side slide on my knee/leg. Two very nice elderly women hiking up from below were pretty concerned and let me know it only got more technical from here. They were right, but I only walked one small section after that.

Fun times, can't wait to go back.

According to the official report, he crashed on the fire road near bong drop. Nerve, ligament and tendon damage in his knee. Bad. really bad. We can chat about the unofficial, report some time. Just not on the webs.

My wife, who works at the main beach Starbucks, was telling me a customer (you?) mentioned yesterday that his buddy had a nasty crash in aliso.. Then I come on here and see this, yikes. Hope he heals up fast.

Thanks. It is going to be a long road. Post MRI tally: torn ACL MCL hamstring and labrum. Plus nerve damage. This sh&it is serious. I try really hard to manage my risk. Wake up call.

^^^This is exactly why I don't mind being the slowest turtle in the pack if it means I hit the bottom in one piece and still able to walk. I don't have to be first...I just have to get there. Assuming getting there is within shouting distance of sanity.

Hope your buddy fully recuperates, Strand. From the bottom of my heart.

Wow sounds like the weekend took its toll.
I did a 3 parks ride Saturday..including Bommer Canyon open day. Rode Rabbit Run Twice...2nd time down.. Augered in at bottom on the 6+ foot Roller... Did not commit.

Do (Commit) ...or Do Not (HAB) ...There is no try ...only pain.

Head, Shoulder, Leg, Neck, Solid OTB, Cracked Helmet in several places. Guys thought I broke my Collar Bone... Nope. Think All the weightlifting, a few pads and a pack helped. Felt like I was hit by Von Miller!

But got up check all joints, head etc...shook it off and rode another 9 miles, including some tech to force the brain. Very sore (car wreckish) over the weekend but feel very lucky could have been worse. Friend did similar last year spent 2 weeks in Hospital.

Scott and I hit up the "Short Loop" at JPL again today. This is the 3rd time I have ridden this route in the last 3 weeks lol, and each and every time is just as fun as the last. We started late today 0939 and it was already hot as hell so the climb up LSM took it's toll on me and I had to stop a bit to get my heart rate down. The rest of the ride though was awesome and the dirt is still epic! Sunset to El P, yes, go get some! Finished the ride off with some spins on the little pump track at the Windsor lot
