Red Rock

Went to Vegas over the weekend. Took the bikes with us and did two days out in Red Rock Canyon. It was pretty darn cold at 45 degrees. My girlfriend managed to scratch up the new parts I got her for Xmas...just like last year.

Also got a chance to watch Mystere...didn't get it. The acrobatics were cool though.

Lots of rocks and sand. Rubber Ducky made me wish I had my full suspension. Pretty technical section. Viagra DH puts ballz on your hair.

Drove past Red Rock a thousand times and never thought to ride there. Good stuff!

Does appear that a hardtail in Red Rock is like a penknife to a gun fight...
Is that Burger from Red Rock Cafe? Looks good!
Thanks for posting this up!

Its pretty flat out there. Not much gain in elevation. So no big downhills where you would need all that suspension. Short rolling terrain with tech thrown in. If I was to pick a bike to ride there...I'd get an 29r AM HT. Something like a Canfield EPO or a Niner ROS 9. A frame that has something around a 68 deg HTA. Pure speed...an XC bike...pure fun...a slack HT.

The burger is from a restaurant inside the "M" Hotel (can't remember the name). It was glorious.

Desert in winter...awesome. TFPU.

Black Velvet Canyon in shot #2 is pretty wild back in there. The scale totally deceiving...2000+' walls in there.

I predict burger therapy later today...

Me and maddog are suppose to hit up those trails next tuesday, forecast keeps getting worse........fingers crossed for now.
