For Those Suffering From ED

I've sensed it for a while on this website, there's some of you out there quietly or not so quietly groaning under the terrible burden of ED. Heck, I've been there myself, several times, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. That's right, Excitement Deficit can happen to anybody. You know how it is, after riding the Floop for the 1000th time; or thinking that you might have to try the Luge backward, at night, just to get that thrill you once knew; or, if you're like @evdog , resorting to pedaling /HAB-ing obscure game trails, now that you've biked every singletrack in the contiguous US and Canada. ED is real, and it saps the mtb stoke most insidiously. Well, I've hit upon at least a partial solution that I'd like to share with my imtb brethren:

P A R A G L I D I N G

Yup, hucking off a 4000-ft peak, catching a thermal that lifts you thousands of feet higher still, all while being supported by a mere 8 lbs. of nylon and string - it's sure to empty your adrenal glands, FAST, and bring back the Excitement you've been craving! And trust me, once you take the leap, you'll want to do it washing machine style, rinse and repeat!

But wait, you say, how does this tie back to mtb-ing?? Well, once you've been PG-ing at altitude for an hour, staring at the yawning, unforgiving abyss below you, questioning your sanity at times, coming back down to earth and riding your bike on terra firma never felt so good!!! If you're like me, the 2 sports seem to complement each other quite well -they're both ways to drain the bank account in order to experience the thrill of the NEW; you can scout out new trails from above (don't need no Google Earth no mo'!), AND ride up to check out potential launch sites for you and your wing; and yep, you even have to deal with an unruly motorized sub-faction (paramotors suck! jk).

It's all there waiting for you -don't live with ED for a minute more than you have to, get on the adrenal joyride today!

Holy Jet Stream Batman!?!?!
Please don’t go the way of the DODO Bird! And if I’m not mistaken… “THEY COULD’NT FLY!!!” o_O

Actually, way cool. I never knew any of the crazy Loons that do this, now I can say I know one. Good job!

Mikie, thanks! I too thought they were loons, now I'm a full convert :) I really like the way this sport has re-wired my mind -remember when @Grego brought his crazy-a$$ reverse-pedaling bike to the Hooliganipalooza at BB a few years back? Reverse launches are like that, you have to flip left and right in your head, while getting ready to run off a mountain! Good stuff!

@Mikie runs his brakes MX style, so is all into that backwards logic stuff!
