Secret Text Message Ride Invite

Oh wow - this became an Orange County ride while I wasn't looking.

I have committed to taking the munchkin and my buddy Taylor to Mt. High this morning - however there is still the teensiest chance that either or both will want to pull the plug on the idea, in which case I am totally down to... watch soccer! (J/K - I would NEVER skip actually doing a sport (surf, ski, mt bike, etc) to watch others play a sport, unless it were a work obligation or my daughter's water polo game.

If I show up, to the SJT trailhead, please don't fall over dead in surprise. I may have to turn around at Le Roc de Cocktail, given my level of bike fitness, but I would only be showing up to give @Mikie a hug anyway. The ride would be merely an excuse to be there.

HaHa. Good thing about Water Polo, its over in 45 minutes .
FIFY!

As a person who has to watch countless high school sporting events, including soccer, I kind of dread standing out at the soccer "pitch" for two hours (including half time and extra time). Water polo is less than half that, and they actually score some goals. That said, water polo is mostly swimming and waving your arms around. Not as graceful to the observer as well-played soccer.

Enjoy the ride yall.
Cry like babies on the climbs, scream like little girls on the downhills, and be safe.
Why ya gotta make fun of babies and little girls?

J/K of course :D

I hope you all had a great time out there and screamed like over the hill mountain bikers enjoying the youthful exuberance of riding a bike down a hill!:)

As you can tell by the lack of my presence at this ride, plan A happened and I skied with my daughter.

Oh yah, yes we did!

@Old Skool and I got to talking about riding bikes and the festivities ahead as we celebrate birthdays (Rick having had a few more than I), and we'd like to coordinate the next iMTBtrails group ride/CNIDS/Rick's annual B-day ride and invite all of youz to ride with us on a date TBD in November at a location TBD. Text our HOoLiGaN friends who don't engage online, as they're invited too.

Details and formal TH invite forthcoming.

I was originally planning my BDay ride for Friday 11/22, but @DangerDirtyD was thinking possibly sometime sooner in November.
Was going to ride SART, but lower SART and the PO Loop has been torched by the Line Fire, still trying to decide a good alternate. Was thinking about Hurkey Creek, but after watching the video clip posted by @dssgaffler, it does'nt look very ridable yet. I had fun in the rocks of Chilao, but I usually have some riders with me who are not up to speed on that style of riding. (they are not genetically challenged like some of us dummies! ;))
Maybe PCE? or Noble?
