I will be heading home Wed. afternoon gotta pick up some spousal unit purchases before the rain hits Thursday evening.
If the trails are worth it I can make drive down there next week when the weather is better.

 

It was a funtastic ride.
I will be back in a couple of months. I need to get this body in riding shape to fully enjoy those trails.

simplest is McGill out of Mt Pinos. Next is GE out of Sandberg

Walking my wife up the water tank hill, tomorrow I ride. starts very steep, then steep, then very steep, then very very steep, after that it is just uphill until the end where it is steep again

It's a ways away but I'm throwing it out there... San Luis Obispo 4/21 - 4/26. Be riding MDO and Irish Hills, Morro Bay and elsewhere. 72nd birthday in that week as well. Anybody interested? Come on up!

 

Heading up to Sedona this morning to demo the new and improved Revel Rascal on the Outer Limits loop. After that, I may take the Transition Smuggler out to the Soldier’s Pass area. I’m trying to find the next bike, preferably a 29er that is 150/140 (or I can modify to get close) that will shred some Oregon loam this Summer. The new Intense Primer fits the bill but it’s not available for demo yet.

 

Might add the Yeti SB 140 to that list. Different feel than the Revel, not better, not worse, just different.

 

I previously rode the SB130 (most comfortable climb ever up to the Luge) and older 27.5 SB140 (absolute slug and least favorite bike I demo’d) but to be honest, the Yeti rear suspension is my least favorite when the going gets repetitively chunky. The Revel suspension was my favorite….going down. However, not so much going up on long grinder climbs. I’m hoping this newer geometry will help with that, though Sedona isn’t the ideas testing ground for sustained climbs.

Ive never ridden a Transition and expect it to go down very well based on its Bellingham roots but I’m not sure how they climb.

 

Planning to ride the LA Invitational again this year.
It was a blast last year, so, should be fun again. Hopefully I can talk a few friends into it again.

Steve let me know what works for you. I will make it happen. I did this ride 3x last year. I am always up for Noble as long as its no too hot.

Shhhhhhh don't tell anyone, but I am going to ride the paved roads (ughhhhh), around the hood in the rain about 1:00 this afternoon.
I haven't done this in a looooong time.

 

PCE tomorrow 8ish at Vons. Bomb Squad shuttle is full though so you gotta arrange it. Looks like last time before summer.
