I Rode My Bike Today...

Did a ride out a Wildwood Park with @SnakeCharmer . Lots of climbing, at little light on the fun downhills, but, lots of nice vistas and a killer waterfall!
I left my phone in the car so, no pics or Strava data. we had some hobbit burger for lunch afterwards.
Super crazy green with fabulous wildflower blooms. And, consumed trails, engulfed by overgrowth. Typical weekend trail traffic, very few riders, perfect temps. The creek below is flowing nicely, slightly above average. That makes Paradise Falls a marvel to see. I was bummed to not see any fish in the creek like I have so many times before on past visits. The trails, other than some rutting, are in great shape.

Yup. You guessed it. Those are my last 6 rides!

What can I say - I am equally enamored with other sports AND my daughter has water polo tournaments on many weekends. I don't ride much anymore. :(

Whiting Luge Whiting today. Borrego and Mustard were closed so I went up Live Oak, Serrano, Whiting Road, etc. I was kind of surprised I was able to complete the entire ride, but I did. Yay me! I took it easy on the downs since I didn't know what to expect with moisture, ruts and rocks AND because my triceps and hands aren't used to riding AND because injuries suck. The Luge is SOOOO Fun right now!!! Only sloppy for about 20 yards. A few ruts. I took it easy but still really enjoyed it! Simon couldn't go that slow if he wanted to. Where is @Lost Kiwi, BTW?

14.72 m 2260' sunny and cool. Bikes are fun! Perfectly silent, well functioning bikes are even funnerererer.  :)

Love a good whiting-luge-whiting ride! Pretty good numbers for being of the bike so long.

Nice lollipop ride from my house through Griffith Park and back with my roadie friend.
I got to check out the closed to traffic section of the park-just a short stretch that’s all climbing. Then we stopped for coffee along the river trail and saw some really nice road and gravel bikes along with a cool old stumpy team bike from like the 90’s done up as a burrito slayer.

when I got home my wife had gotten me some ipa from Guadalajara at the store and insisted I try one.

Had a short timeframe so did a quicky. Rode today from the house up El toro into the back of Whiting. Trails are in pretty good shape whit some sea da water in a few places. One thing about this trail is it always changes bit when I rains. Not a lot of bikers, bu aplenty of Hikers out, one insisted on keeping his line in the middle of the trail ( clueless ), all the others moved over and a few with a "thanks for the bell". After the maintenance I did to the bike and its Spa Day, it was running excellent andsSo quiet. And the flowers are quite nice I must say.
Excellent mini ride, 10.6/1160.

That second Wildwood trail video is a gem. it goes for about 6 miles and follows the contours for the most part but does climb +/-200 ft all along the route. drop and fall twisty twisty. At the west end there are some RR tie steps, these I walk as part of the 90-10%. Sure I can ride them, but if you were going to eat it, here is the place.
Happy wildwood trails, thanks Snake Charmer

Yep... Drugs are great.  Took it easy and tried to be smooth...

Before heading up Brown, we rode over and checked out the closed area. This is technically the end of the Gabrielino, but it's road width here for accessing the forest service cabins. The road is supposed to be at the height of the orange cone.

At the Ken Burton Saddle. Great trail... It presently has no exit at the creek level. o_O

One of the enhanced water crossings on El Prieto... Looking back up the trail...

After one of the storms, there were two rocks that came down together. The trail crews pushed one into the creek and made a jump out of the other...
