Flat Florida road ride

trying out first RR with photos.... Rented a Synapse while on vacation with the family in Orlando and did Van Fleet rail trail from end to end. Completely flat and straight for 60 miles. I would have fallen asleep while riding if it wasn't for the wildlife and sound from all the bugs. thought I would share some pics: and yes it was hot and humid. hmm... only 5 photos at a time??

Way cool!
Man that was like "Wild Kingdom!" You are quite the photographer. What kind of camera did you use?
The forum only let you post 5 pics per post??? Hmmm, I thought I set it up for 50 per post. I have heard that is too many per post from other Forum Operators. I'll check the settings.

Was the RR with pics easy other than that?
Thanks again!!

Update: pics are now set to 25 pics per post...

Thanks. and yea, it was! but I was a little disappointed I didn't get to see a BIG gator. I was hoping I would see mama surface when I found the baby gator, he was only about a foot long, so cute. The gopher turtles were everywhere, I think I saw 30+ of them. That little pigmy rattler was the size of a worm with rattles only a few mm long, while that spider was the size of my hand.
I have been using one of those point n shoot Canon Elph, and you can find them for around $100 I find it easy to just grab and shoot, and I take pics while riding with one hand a lot. Granted, half of what I shoot doesn't turn out though. LOL Only drawback, I tend to destroy one every 1-2 years and I'm on my 4th or 5th one now. This time we finally bought a 2yr protection plan for $25

My wife and I lived in Kissimmee for 15 years, and both of our boys were born in Orlando
My wife's family from Sweden rented a house just up the 27 below four corners. We went to Kennedy Space Center, Clearwater beach (way too effin hot) and rest of the time, we just hung out at the pool. They went to the parks while I was out on the bike. Rented it from Evolve bikes in Celebration, very nice town with boardwalks over swamps. The Atlantis Space Shuttle presentation was absolutely incredible. Moving. People were crying. I had goosebumps. a must-do if you visit.

I know that area very well... And I can remember when Celebration was built.

The Pygmy rattlers never get bigger than a #2 pencil, but they are lethal... We used to get them in the yard all the time, and in the garage every now and then. We also had a 4 foot gator that lived in the pipe under our driveway...

I remember when Celebration was built... We were only about 15 minutes away. :-)

The good ol' swamp. I stayed in Winter Park for 2 years or so, which is within riding distance to Orlando. I recommend Retro City Cycles as a bike shop down there. The owner, Dano, is a real good down-to-earth guy. The area has probably hundreds of miles of those kinds of paved trails, though they aren't so straight and boring near where I lived. Not as many critters either, since it trail mainly went between residential areas, and a few ponds with gators in them.

My experience in the pan handle part of FL isn't as adventurous, though I only really explored Ft Walton Beach, Crestview, Destin, etc.

Just re-reading this report and digging the crazy wildlife. I like wildlife and live with wilderness at the back of my property. But not like this! Marveled again at what great pics these are! NICE!
