I Rode My Bike Today...

A little GE action this morning with Connie :)
There were about 10 other riders up there, including 2 dirt bikes on the Lower ST section

My ride was truncated by a failed rear brake. It's been acting up and telling me it needs a bleed desperately, but I was making it work enough to enjoy my rides. But she was all the way to the bar with no hope of pumping up all the way down Rock-It - which is fine, because, who needs brakes? But I didn't think it wise to go much farther.

Given my limited time today before heading to Sandy Yago to visit my dad this afternoon, and given that I want to ride tomorrow morning, I cut my ride short, went to my nearest bike shop (Laguna Cyclery) where Mr. Mechanic threw it on the rack and made it mo' bettah. I think it will need a full purge and clean in the near future, but should be good to go for a while.

So, no brakes means PRs = a win for those of us that actually use Strava :gotnothing:

I had to look up truncated

I rode today... Some riding, some pushing the bike, and some bushwhacking... Part of the Bell View Trail above Robinson Ranch, in the neighborhood of Ding Dong. Caspers park wraps all the way around there... I was actually looking for one of the other single tracks that is smoother and faster. I never found it in the maze of mustard.

10 miles and 1600 feet.

Santa’s Village today, a Father’s Day present :geek::thumbsup:

What a fun place again. Did Arrow multiple times, Sleigh Ride, Playground, Tree Line, Deck The Halls. I attempted Comet for the first time. Okay that is a bit over my head, but they really made it a fun trail. It was actually my favorite trail, even though I had to step off my bike quite a few times; the number of obstacles/turns you do end up doing is SO FUN! :D

And yes what is up with all those electric bikes?? :facepalm:Geez the climbing is pretty easy there. Climbing is fun!

My ride window today was on the short side.

Had to work this morning. Got home, swapped the 29ers back onto the Hightower and headed over to the Oaks.

It was 11:45 or so, and it was still overcast and cool. I thought I might score on the weather. NOPE. As soon as I started heading up Oak the clouds cleared and the temps shot up.

Decided to just head up Oak, and down Barham. Met up with Suz at the bottom of Goat and rolled home.

I got out.

Bikes are fun.

Did a quick lap late this afternoon after trouble shooting a creak/click that was annoying the crap of me on zee shred sled:gag:. It ended up being the Der hanger or saddle rails me thinks. Pulled the cranks off as well to re-grease the appropriate bits just in case:geek:. All good now:thumbsup:. Did my usual solo lap with some Old Emerald mixed in to continue multi-cam testing. A productive day with some nice weather and un-shredding the not so gnar bruh.:whistling:

A romp in the northern CNF for a friends B-day ride. I chose to ride the WWTiHTSS. Would be the right bike to push uphill. :p The course was shortened a little due to the field of riders got too stretched out and some chose different routes. I ended up riding B* MD MW and halfway up Maple before others that stayed on MD were coming down. One in the group left some blood on the Motorway. Birthday girl had a great time. 35/5700

Finally got the hitch installed on my new vehicle, thanks to Hitch depot" now I can start venturing out to ride once again. Haven't been riding much in the past 3 weeks, today I did want to get away and head out to the San Gabes after work and ride Strawberry! Not one rider did I see out of Switzers, Josephine, Strawberry meadow, Strawberry saddle, Red Box, until half way down the Gabrielino. Ran into about half dozen runners on Strawberry never seen so many before. Overgrown Gabrielino but still fun to ride, this is where I would run into the first mountain bikers I've seen all day about half way down the Gabrielino! A little warm up there today no clouds, mellow pace and a lot of fun, this was the first time riding solo on Strawberry very relaxing and quiet no rushing just me and good old nature"

Right on dude! That’s a great loop to ride solo. Like you said just you and nature, it’s good for the soul!

A 7:00 start with my friend Allan got us out in the cool and cloudy (if humid) temps. I've been telling him about Santa Ana River flood plain and how awesome it is to go riding in due to all the streams crisscrossing it. In the water everywhere this morning was not disappointing! 3 hour meander, and although it was relatively flat it was also very Sandy, so the elevation doesn't relate to the efforts. Back home at 10, and the temps are still 74F. Might try to get the boy to go ride Hulda this afternoon, to make it a Father's Day twofer!

Awesome! My favorite solo ride. Really empty in the weekdays.

Quick ride this morning in Aliso w/ @horsebikerider

Up Wood Canyon, up Coyote, Cholla....then across the ridge to Top of the World and over to Mentally Sensitive. Goats are feasting at the top of Meadows.

We rode into the heavy fog drizzle at the top of Mentally Sensitive. Suz was getting her first go at it. Showed her the lines....she killed it.

Lots of people out....lots of oblivious people out....

Love that place! I get the same initial feeling when the Ebikes blow by me on the climbs...then I start thinking...maybe I could get 7-8 laps in instead of 4-5 in this quick hour for the same workout....:devilish:
