I Rode My Bike Today...

That’s not the Floop.....I don’t see any homeless.

Definitely the Floop... Here's more proof!

The Bomb Squad duo Hillbilly and I climbed Exploration trail then up to the tower. Great temps, great trail and great co. And then we descended it. First time for Doug and requests to climb it to scout it out. He rolls the steep transition boulder roll right after me. Who says 26rs are dead! He’s got the moves like Jaggar! No crashes no mechanicals just good Chit! Way to go Doug!

3 ups, 3 downs in alternating fashion with @Danimal @Bill and Dan's buddy Jeff. Actually, Dan and Jeff didn't do 5-Oaks - they met us at the bottom of 5-O - with perfect timing, we rolled out of the trees and they rolled up the fireroad at exactly the same time. Then it was Up Cholla, Down Rock-It, Up Mathis, Down Meadow. My bike was creaking like a 1st generation Santa Cruz Blur - maddening and embarrassing. I love, need, require a silent bike.

Fun day out there. Lots of trail traffic, but no disruption on the downs, and that's what matters. Always nice eye candy out there too - and I'm not just talking about Dan!

15 mi, 2400' Thanks guys!

@Voodoo Tom and I buzzed over and rode Chilao, just so you know, we never had a @rossage sighting. However, a little Asian lady got a full Monty of me in an outhouse! We rode up from Newcombs on the pavement to the Silver Moccasin trailhead and nobody was there in the parking lot. Tom went in one stall to dehydrate, I had to lose some weight in another. I hear all these vehicles pull up and my stall door would not even shut, so as I'm utilizing some TP, this older lady opens the door to find me standing there with my Lycra around my knees. She looks at me, looks down, looks back at me, I say, "HI!" She says, "Oh! Solly!" and she slams the door which only bounced against the door jam it would not fit within! I said, "You should try knocking on bathroom doors first." Sheesh!

It was just Tom and myself, since no one jumped on our ride with us :(, we had a no nonsense ride meaning we stopped for a total of 17 minutes only to re calibrate my Garmin which froze. Ride went so fast we felt cheated when we were on our way home from Newcomb's. We both thought later we should have done another loop! Both Hillyer and Silver Moccasin seemed more chunky than usual... :geek: I didn't clean what I always clean on the technical... :mad:I'll get you Chilao! Good times!

I was at Newcombs at the designated time. In fact, I did an early loop and was waiting at Newcombs from 750 to 820am.
I always ride solo so it didn't make no nevermind with me. I went up the road, jumped on the Silver Moc and CLEANED it for the second time. I parked at the bottom of the trail so I never saw @Mikie or @Voodoo Tom so I doubt they even showed up....

Rolling up the 2
In the dawns early light
Rolling to Chilao
Gonna hit it right
Hillyer is waiting
boulders and sand
Roller or rut
Hit the roller, man
Rolling up to Chilao
Gonna see some friends
Riding in Chilao
Hope it never ends
Horse flats bandido
And silver moccasin
High country heaven
Calls us back again
I was there You were not
Once again a solo shot
That's ok I reap what I sow
Alone like the wind
When I ride Chilao

Quick ride this morning with @horsebikerider

Planned to get up early and join singlespeedrider out at Blackstar, but my body told me I needed the sleep.

So we headed over to Chino Hills. Didn't get rolling til about 10:00.

Suz was still feeling not 100%....so she turned back and waited at Horse Camp while I finished the short loop.

17 miles / 1600'

Oh, yeah....we also celebrated out 17th Anniversary today.

You are both lucky to have a spouse who loves to ride. Many more happy riding years to both of you

Stayed up late got up late took my wife to the airport, did some chores, and then to Quick Loop through El Morro. Rode a bit later / afternoon beautiful ocean breeze.

Kind of funny pushed it down rattlesnake an was not riding well itvseemef and nearly got bucked off a few times got to the bottom and realized I had the fork open and for some reason the rear suspension firm. Hence the bucking sensation. Hilarious part... I set a PR not sure how that happened.

Also was a good lad helped out some young hikers that we're doing a bit bigger Loop than they bargained for gave them some water, nice kids /millennials thankful polite

Sweet! Not too many trails that I really miss riding regularly but Chilao is one of them though!!

Have a you and @Voodoo Tom ridden from Charlton flats, up to Vetter lookout, up Silver Moccasin to Hillyer. After a Hillyer lap, climb up to Christian Camp and hit Silver Moc all the way back to Charlton Flats. Guarantee you’ll be spent! Cheers

BTW I did ride today and the day before. Yesterday was at Tokul gettin my loamy DH on and today was at my local trail BDOS. Both places are great for winter riding cuz yeah it’s already starting to rain and get cooold! On today’s ride it rained so hard I might as well have jumped in a river I was so wet lol....
